In the south of Luxembourg a university and research campus is being built around the former steel production site with its landmark furnaces.

An open urban environment has been created by using a limited palette of elements; the dark homogenous surface provides a neutral, calm background for the site. Depth is created through the positioning of large water basins. These are planted to create a luminous contrast in the urban and industrial environment.
